For our new weekly feature, "Moveable Feast," Rachel Hutton of Minnesota Monthly joins John Birge to talk about where to go and what to eat in destinations Classical MPR listeners may be interested in visiting.

Inspired by the Guthrie's upcoming production of Uncle Vanya, this week Rachel and John are thinking Russian.

Russian cuisine

St. Paul staple Moscow on the Hill is a must-try for anyone craving Russian food and drink.

Also, check out St. Petersburg Restaurant & Vodka Bar, located in Robbinsdale, Minn. St. Petersburg has a large dining room, and features live entertainment on the weekends.

Artisanal vodka

Prairie Vodka (made by family-owned Phillips Distilling) is an organic vodka made from ingredients sourced from Benson, Minn. Prairie Vodka has slightly sweet, almost floral notes and is very smooth and clean.

45th Parallel Vodka creates grain-to-glass vodka with corn grown a few miles down the road from its Wisconsin distillery. The company also produces specialty liquors, including a horseradish vodka for Moscow on the Hill and a dill-flavored aquavit for all you Scandinavians!

Rachel Hutton covers food and travel (and vodka) at Minnesota Monthly.
