Today at 2 p.m., CORO! (the exclamation mark is part of the name) will perform at the MPR booth at the State Fair, located near the corner of Judson and Nelson.

According to its website, CORO! is a semi-professional chorus based in the Twin Cities. Founded by two area voice teachers, John-Scott Moir and Lila Olson, CORO! from the beginning has been "an ensemble of vocal soloists," singing lyric stage, opera and choral music.

Since its creation in 2007, the group has gained impressive growth and recognition among Twin Cities audiences.

Artistic Director Moir started his professional singing career with the San Diego Opera. In his first seasons, Moir worked with George London, Joan Sutherland, Sherrill Milnes, and Beverly Sills. He later made his PBS-TV debut in the SDO's ] production of The Merry Widow, with Sills and Alan Titus.
