Every weekday morning at 10 a.m., the hosts at Classical MPR play a stand-out work based on the theme for the week. We call them Morning Glories.

August 1st marks the 100th birthday of American composer Jerome Moross, and we will be celebrating his centennial all week on Morning Glories!

Moross is best known for composing the Academy Award-nominated score for the film The Big Country, though he was equally adept at creating music for Broadway and the concert hall.

Also, on Aug. 13 at 8:00 p.m. we will be presenting WFMT's 2 hour special "JEROME MOROSS — The Big Country and Beyond", hosted Grammy Award-winning artist Michael Feinstein.
