While John Barry's Oscars and Oscars nominations came from love stories and epics like Out of Africa, A Passage to India, Born Free and Dances with Wolves, Barry's first big movie break came when a fellow composer was struggling to find a theme for a movie's main character.

Barry stepped in and wrote the melody that is forever identified with Bond, James Bond. He went on to score nearly a dozen Bond films — one of the all-time favorites is Goldfinger.
