Tune in on Tuesday, December 20 at 8:00 p.m. to hear Ralph Vaughan Williams' Cantata, Hodie. His last major choral/orchestral work, it is a glorious and beautiful piece for this Christmas season.

This work uses as its text a mixture of scripture, poetry, and — at the beginning — an excerpt from the Latin vespers for Christmas day. Scored for choir, boys' choir, organ, and orchestra, this sixteen movement work is a blend of Vaughan Williams' compositional styles.

This recording features the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra — conductor Hilary Davan Wetton, the Guildford Choral Society, St. Catherine's School Middle Chamber Choir, Stephen Gadd, Peter Hoare, and Janice Watson.

Combining lush orchestration and beautiful choral writing, this uncommonly played work is not to be missed.
