Click on Classical: Cell phone critics, shaming vs. booing, and life as a choirboy

Every Monday morning at 9:15, I join John Birge on Classical MPR to talk about stories we're featuring on our website. Here's what we'll be discussing today.

Have you ever seen (and heard) someone using a smartphone during a classical music concert? What would you do? One American critic in Vienna took matters into his own hands.

One thing people are using those smartphones for (more likely after the concert than during it) is to post snarky comments about poor performances. Is online shaming replacing public booing...and if so, is that a good thing? Gwen Hoberg contemplates.

In a humorous and moving essay, Todd Wardrope reminisced about his life as a "pint-sized rock star" in the Minnesota Boychoir in the early 1980s.
