Flame shooting ‘Pyro-Trombone’ at the University of Texas

The Pyro-Trombone. While it sounds like something that may have been imagined by famous painter Rene Magritte, it's actually the brainchild of Valentin Guerin — a French music student at the University of Texas at Austin.

Guerin owns the patent for this unique instrument — the trombone is the first (and only) of its kind, capable of shooting flames 26 feet into the air.

Guerin recently teamed up with nine members of the University of Texas Trombone Octet for a performance in front of the UT Tower. They can be seen in action in the video below.
